History Out and About

You can learn a lot of History in a classroom. However, you can learn a lot more when you get out and about. At Farnborough Hill we are always looking for opportunities to make the most of the historic environment around us.

Click on the links below to find out more about where we have been.

We are very lucky to learn and teach History in such a historic setting. At the beginning of Year 7 we study Farnborough Hill to find out what we can about it's History. Click here for more details.

In the Summer Term of Year 7, as part of our study into Medieval Realms, we visit Portchester Castle.

In Year 8 we host a Victorian Day when the girls (and the staff) get to dress up as Victorians (see images below):

We also visit the First World War Trenches around Ypres in Belgium as part of our Twentieth Century study.

We are always looking for opportunities to go out and about with the other year groups. Watch this space!
