The Library is open daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm during term-time. The Library is staffed between 8.30am and 4.15pm. After-school prep is held in the Library from 4pm until 5.30pm.
Students in years 7 to 11 may use the Library during their free time (ie before school, morning break, lunch break, and immediately after school). They also use the Library during timetabled Library lessons (years 7 and 8) and during subject lessons when Library research is planned.
In addition to the above, Sixth Formers may use the Library during their free periods.
Most of the Library's resources may be borrowed by any member of the Farnborough Hill community.
Students in years 7 to 11 can borrow up to 4 items for 2 weeks. Sixth formers can borrow up to 6 items for 3 weeks. Thereafter, books can be renewed as long as they have not been reserved. Overdue notices are regularly sent out if books are not brought back on time. Students with items more than a term overdue are charged the replacement cost on their school bill.
Items are issued and returned using the computerised library system ('Eclipse'). If the library staff are not available, students can use a manual system to record their loans.
