Each class in Years 7 and 8 is taught
'Science' for 3 hours per week by one teacher. It is taught in topics,
identified as Biology, Chemistry or Physics based, which take 2-4 weeks each.
In Year 9, the students are taught Biology, Chemistry and
Physics by three specialist teachers for 1 hour per week for each Science. We
build on the topics they have encountered in Years 7 and 8 and start introducing
some of the concepts they will need for GCSE. At this level, we think specialist
teachers are the ideal. Teachers can convey more enthusiasm for a subject they
are passionate about.
