Scholarships
A number of Scholarships are available for girls entering the First Form:
Six Academic Scholarships, three worth one third of fees and three worth one sixth of fees, are awarded on the basis of performance in the entrance examination.
One of the scholarships, worth one third of fees, is reserved for a Roman Catholic student; all other scholarships are open.
One Music Scholarship, worth 20% of fees, is awarded on the basis of audition following success in the entrance examination. Eligible students will usually have attained a Grade IV level in their chosen discipline but all-round musicianship is perhaps the more important consideration.
One Sporting Scholarship, worth 20% of fees, is awarded on the basis of tests following success in the entrance examination. Eligible students will usually be competing at club level in their particular sport and will have the potential to contribute to the school's overall sporting achievement.
One Art and Design Scholarship, worth 20% of fees, is awarded on the basis of tests and the current Head’s recommendation following success in the entrance examination.
All the above scholarships are tenable for seven years, subject to a satisfactory annual review of progress.
Scholarships are available for girls entering the Sixth Form, worth £2500 per annum. Academic scholarships are either awarded based on performance in an open examination or on the basis of GCSE examination results. Sixth Form scholarships are also awarded for sport and the creative and performing arts.
