Farnborough Hill has a very busy English Department. English is part of the core curriculum up to GCSE and is a very popular subject at A level. Our results are exceptional with our students achieving the very highest marks in public examinations.

The English Department loves to celebrate National Poetry Day each year. Past themes have included 'Memory', 'Water' and 'Stars' included Activities usually include:

  • Poems to read out in registration and a themed assembly
  • Lunchtime poetry performances by students throughout the school
  • A poetry competition judged by the Sixth Form
