MR TIM FLESHER CB – CHAIR OF GOVERNORS

Tim Flesher was a civil servant for 36 years and held Board level appointments in the Home Office, the Inland Revenue and the Ministry of Defence. Since leaving the Civil Service he has been self-employed and currently is a member of the Armed Forces Pay Review Body and Chairman of a data centre company.



 

MR GERRY MCCORMACK –  DEPUTY CHAIR OF GOVERNORS AND CHAIR OF FINANCE AND GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE

Gerry McCormack is a Scottish Chartered Accountant with a law degree.  He spent the first part of his career with a “Big 4” accounting firm in Libya, Belgium and Italy before returning to the UK. On leaving the profession, he held the position of Group Finance Director in publicly listed companies with household names in housebuilding, support services and construction. Currently, his Independent Director roles see him as Chair of Audit & Risk Committees in a major Housing Association group as well as a not-for-profit regulatory body. He also provides strategic and financial advice to a number of privately owned businesses in a range of sectors.

 

MRS JANET WINDEATT – CHAIR OF THE EDUCATION COMMITTEE 

Janet Windeatt has had an extensive business career specialising in Human Resources and Information Technology management.  She worked for the IBM Corporation in the US and Europe and also spent 19 years in senior roles within British Airways where she was a part of the People Department Leadership Team.   Janet has a BA degree from Eastern University in Pennsylvania and is also part of the alumni community of the Harvard Business School Program for Global Leadership.


 

MR  MARK BERNARD

Mark Bernard is a parent of a former Farnborough Hill girl, an INSEAD alumni and professional marketer who has held senior positions in corporate, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) and Not-for-Profit businesses. He worked for Polaroid for 15 years, followed by spells as Marketing Director with Casio, LG and Stanley Black & Decker, before moving into the SME world. He is currently a member of the board of EEF, the manufacturers' organisation.


 

MRS ANN BERRY

Ann Berry was educated at Farnborough Hill and Chelsea College of Physical Education, Sussex University. She joined her alma mater in 1968 as Head of the PE Department and retired in 2007.  During this time she was also Head Of Year for Years 10/11. Outside of school she has been heavily involved with coaching and organising hockey at District, County and Regional levels.

 

 

DR CATHRYN CHADWICK

Cathryn Chadwick is a Farnborough Hill Old Girl, now working as a Consultant Paediatrician with a particular interest in medical education.  She is Head of School of Paediatrics in the East Midlands and sits on the education and training committee at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
 


 

MR CHRIS FOWLER-TUTT

Chris Fowler-Tutt is a Chartered Surveyor and has worked for Colliers International, a global firm of property advisors, for 30 years. Prior to taking up a consultancy role this year, he was head of the European, Middle East and African valuation division based in London. Chris chaired the EMEA Valuation Practice Group covering some 40 offices dealing with technical, ethical and best practice issues. He is a past treasurer of The European Group of Valuers’ Associations where he represented the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  Chris is also a former parent.

 

MR TONY GRACE

Tony Grace is a graduate of the University of Glasgow and a Scottish Chartered Accountant. He has spent the majority of his career in senior finance and business change roles in the telecoms sector but more recently he has been Chief Financial Officer in a major parcel delivery company. He is a past Chair of the Board of Trustees of Coeliac UK and both his daughters are Farnborough Hill Old Girls.

 

 

MS HELEN GRIFFITHS

Helen left Farnborough Hill in 1983 for Somerville College, Oxford, where she read History before undertaking a law conversion course.  She spent 25 years, the last 16 as a Partner, at City law firm Slaughter and May, retiring in 2015 to pursue other interests. Helen is a Trustee of World Child Cancer and of the International Institute for the Conservation of Historical and Artistic Works. She is married with one son and divides her time between London and Wales. In her spare time she enjoys theatre, exhibitions, needlework, improving her French and entertaining.

 

MRS JULIE MICKLETHWAITE

Julie Micklethwaite is a Deputy Head Teacher at a GSA prep school in Surrey.  She was educated at a GSA school in Northampton and studied for her BEd Hons at Roehampton Institute. She has over 25 years’ experience in the private sector of education, including teaching pupils of all ages with specific learning difficulties. She enjoys participating in and watching sport including supporting her two daughters, both ex-Farnborough Hill, who are active hockey players.  
 

 

MRS GILLIAN RIVERS

Gillian Rivers is a Partner at Penningtons Manches LLP, and advises on all areas of domestic and international Family Law.  She is the immediate past Chair to the Family Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and is on the Editorial Board of the College of Law.  She is the co-chair of the IBA Human Trafficking Task Force and a member of the Santa Marta Group, an alliance between The Pope, Police Forces worldwide and civil society which has as its aim combatting human trafficking.

 

MRS MARGARET WELFORD

Margaret is a former Head Girl of Farnborough Hill and studied law at The London School of Economics. She is a qualified solicitor specialising in banking and finance law, having trained and worked at Linklaters LLP before joining the in-house legal team at a leading international bank. Outside the workplace Margaret enjoys golf, horse riding and foreign travel.
