The school is divided vertically into 5 houses - Becket, Campion, Fisher, Howard and More.
A student is assigned to one House for the duration of her school career. Each House is organised by a committee comprising of staff and students and is responsible for an inter-House activity for which House Points are awarded. House activities include:
The Inter-House Competition
This competition is great fun and very competitive with events are held throughout the year - these include the Fisher House Quiz, Farnborough Hill’s Got Talent, the Recycled Fashion Show, the Science Challenge and Inter-House Sports.
Each House supports a nominated charity and raises funds for this during the year. The main fund-raising event is the Christmas Bazaar but houses also hold their own events including Easter Egg tombola, Christmas Hamper raffle, charity Christmas Cards, hot chocolate and cake sales.
The house system promotes a sense of belonging across the year groups. When Year 7 students join the school they are adopted by Year 10 ‘Aunties’ who help them to settle in. A house treasure hunt early in the Christmas term gives the ‘Aunties’ and ‘Nieces’ a chance to get to know each other. House Assemblies are held several times a term. Students are encouraged to wear their colourful house T-shirts at house events.
