On Thursday 9 November and Monday 12 November, forms 7A and 7B respectively, had a Science lesson which was rather different from usual. They went out to visit GE (General Electric) Oil and Gas in Farnborough. They were given a tour of the shop floor where the manufacturing takes place and of the design and computer area where the products are designed and tested. This is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) event and part of a new partnership called Girls Get Set, designed to give girls first-hand experience of options available as a result of studying STEM subjects. The other year 7 tutor groups will be visiting shortly.
