SENIOR CHOIR ARE OFF TO TUSCANY

Tuesday 30th June, 2009

Message from Mrs Phillips:

There is great excitement in the Senior Choir rehearsals now, as we are getting closer to the departure date. Suitcases are being filled with choir uniform, Mrs Salmon has finished sewing out new green sparkly scarves, decisions have been made as to who will bring the hair straighteners and how many swim suits are needed.

We can just about sing all of the 45 pieces of music to be included in the 4 concerts and the Mass. Still having trouble with ‘Hamba Lulu’ but hey, we can practise it round the pool! It will be an astonishing experience, I’m sure. For me, I think the highlights will be the outdoor concert in Siena and singing Mass at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome – it’s an important and very beautiful church and we are so lucky to be able to sing there. It must be important, I have a picture of it on a tea towel! We will tell you all about our trip when we return.
